fridge assembly line

The main steps of a refrigerator final assembly line can be divided into the following core stages:

Final Assembly Line

The foamed cabinet enters the main assembly line, where most functional components are installed.

1. Compressor Installation: The “heart” of the refrigerator – the compressor – is installed in its designated location at the bottom of the cabinet.
2. Condenser & Filter Installation: Other key components of the refrigeration system are connected.
3. Tube Connection & Brazing: Copper or aluminum tubes connect the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and capillary tube to form a sealed refrigeration circuit. Connections are typically brazed (oxygen welding) to ensure absolute sealing.
4. Vacuum Evacuation & Refrigerant Charging: An extremely critical step. Air and moisture are thoroughly removed from the system via a process port (vacuum evacuation), followed by the precise injection of the specified type and weight of refrigerant (e.g., R600a, R134a).
5. Electrical System Installation: The main control board, thermostat, light, fan, and other electrical components are installed, and all wire harnesses are connected.
6. Installing Shelves & Drawers: Interior accessories like glass shelves, plastic drawers, and crispers are installed.

7. Door Installation: The pre-processed doors are attached to the cabinet via hinges, and the door gap is adjusted to ensure a tight seal.
8. Handle & Trim Installation: The final aesthetic components are installed.

Testing & Packaging

1. Performance Testing (Aging Station):
Power-On Test: Power is applied to check if the compressor starts and stops correctly.
Cooling Performance Test: The refrigerator runs continuously to verify it reaches the set temperatures.
Leak Test: A precision leak detector checks for any refrigerant leaks in the system.
Function Check: All buttons, displays, lighting, defrost function, etc., are tested.
2. Final Inspection & Cleaning:
Workers visually inspect the exterior for scratches, dents, or other defects.
The cabinet and doors are thoroughly cleaned to remove dust and fingerprints.

3. Packaging:
The refrigerator is covered with a plastic protective bag.
Protective materials like foam corner pads are placed around the unit.
The refrigerator is placed into its cardboard carton, which is then sealed.
Finally, straps are applied to secure the package for transportation and storage.
