Core Components of a CKD Washing Machine Assembly Line
A typical CKD assembly line is not just a production line but a complete operational system.
1. Preparation & Component Management
1.1 Supply Chain & Logistics: The core task is to procure all components from the parent factory (often in manufacturing hubs like China) and ship them via sea/land to the local factory. This involves complex logistics planning, inventory management, and customs clearance.
1.2 Warehouse Management: An efficient warehouse is needed to store the vast number and variety of loose parts, typically using racking systems and a WMS (Warehouse Management System). Material feeding to the line often uses a “Set-Parts Supply” (SPS) system, where a complete set of parts for one unit is delivered to the corresponding workstation.
1.3 Quality Control (Incoming Quality Control – IQC): All imported CKD parts must undergo strict inspection before storage to ensure they meet quality standards and prevent defective parts from halting the production line.
2. Main Assembly Line (Conveyor Line)
The line is usually a conveyor belt system with connected workstations. The main stages are:
2.1 Inner Tub Pre-Assembly Station:
2.1.1 Pre-assemble the plastic inner tub with the flange, balance ring, and other components.
2.1.2 Install the heating element (for front-load washers).
2.2 Main Cabinet Pre-Assembly Station:
2.2.1 Form the sheet metal cabinet and install the rear panel, drain pipe interface, etc.
2.3 Main Assembly Line (Core Section):
2.3.1 Shock Absorbers & Counterweight Installation**: Install dampers and concrete counterweights into the main cabinet.
* **Outer Tub Installation**: Place the plastic or stainless steel outer tub into the cabinet and connect it to the shock absorbers.
* **Inner Drum Assembly Installation**: Place the pre-assembled inner drum into the outer tub and connect it to the drive system (motor or Direct Drive motor).
* **Control Board & System Installation**: Install the main control board, water level sensor, door lock switch, etc.
* **Front Panel & Door Installation**: Install the front panel, detergent dispenser, and hinge the door.
* **Top Panel & Cover Installation**: Install the top cover.
2.4 Testing Line:
* **Functional Test**: Power on the washer, run full cycles (filling, draining, washing, spinning) to check for abnormal noises, leaks, or functional faults.
* **Safety Test**: Perform tests like ground resistance and dielectric strength (hipot test) to ensure product safety.
* **Visual Inspection**: Check the cabinet for scratches or dents.
2.5 Packing Line:
* Pack the qualified products using packing belts, foam corner pads, plastic bags, etc.
* Affix labels containing model number, serial number, production date, etc.
* Palletize and move to finished goods warehouse.
